You have been the backbone of Rock Your Nose since 2009. Most of you are repeat customers and it has been a pleasure getting to know each of you, and crafting your unique pieces over the years.
Because I handcraft my jewelry using mostly North American materials—including gold and silver sourced directly from my supplier in the United States—I was able to safely avoid international trade tariffs for the last year.
Unfortunately, the new Section 338 emergency tariffs changed everything.
For the past month, I have been desperately trying to find a technical and financial workaround so I wouldn't have to pass these costs on to you. I tried a small price increase, but because the new tariff is a massive 50% of the total product price, the penalty grows every single time the product price does.
To keep my shop open this past month, I have been personally subsidizing about 30% of that tariff out of my own pocket—a loss I simply cannot continue to absorb as an independent artisan.
- Original Prices Are Back: I have lowered all of my jewelry listings back to their original, fair retail prices.
- The Shipping Adjustment: To cover the mandatory 50% government customs tariff on your order, I have shifted the fee into a specialized combined U.S. shipping and duty rate tiers at checkout.
- My normal shipping rate is $9. The shipping price will be $9 + tariff.
