There is no fussy catch on these - simply pull one end toward you and push the other end away from you. Insert and push to close. The photo shows 20G thickness, which is a regular earring post thickness. You can also choose slightly thicker 18G, or thicker yet 16G.
Sizes are (measured from outside edge to outside edge):
12mm (almost 1/2")
11mm (almost 7/16")
10mm (just over 3/8")
